Corticel™?
Corticel™ is an all-natural dietary supplement

What is Cortisol?
Cortisol, also known as Cortisone and
Hydrocortisone, is a steroid hormone produced in the
adrenal gland in reponse to stress. Cortisol is
often referred to as the primary "stress hormone".
In the body, cortisol is needed to maintain normal
physiological processes during times of stress -
without cortisol, the body would not be able to
respond effectively to stress. With an effective
cortisol metabolism, cortisol secretion releases
amino acids from muscle, glucose from the liver and
fatty acids from adipose tissue into the blood
stream for use as energy. Normal cortisol metabolism
undergoes a "diurnal rhythm", meaning that cortisol
levels vary throughout a 24-hour period, with the
highest levels typically observed in the early
morning and the lowest levels in the early hours
(about midnight - 2am). Cortisol levels usually show
a rapid drop between 8am and 11am and a continued
gradual decline throughout the day. From those
lowest levels around 2am, cortisol again begins to
rise to help us wake up and prepare for another
stressful day. The normal range for blood cortisol
levels is a fairly wide range of 6-23 mcg/dl, but
these levels can vary tremendously in response to
both physical and emotional stress, and even
following meals.
Cortisol can have negative effects when either there
is too much cortisol or the body is exposed to
cortisol stress on a regular basis. Scientific
evidence shows that elevated cortisol levels are
associated with difficultly managing weight,
difficulty feeling relaxed, sugar or carbohydrate
cravings, fatigue, an increasingly negative
perspective, moodiness, increased symptoms of the
menstrual cycle, and increased appetite, weight
gain, irritability, chronic fatigue, anxiety,
depression, weakening of the immune system and
overall poor health.
According to new studies there is a direct link
between stress, tension and excess belly fat. Stress
produces a fat making hormone called cortisol. Too
much production of this stress hormone can causes

How many Corticel™ capsules should I take daily?
As a dietary supplement, take two (2) capsules
daily. For best results, take one (1) capsule with a
full glass of water at breakfast and one (1) capsule
with a full glass of water at lunch. Advanced
Dosage: 2 capsules 2x per day with meals as above.

How does stress and mood affect my weight
management goals?
Do you eat for comfort and relaxation? We all have
our favorite comfort foods. We turn to them when we
feel stress. Corticel™ is specially formulated to
reduce stress and improve mood to help increase your
sense of well-being. When we feel better, we eat
less comfort food and we make better choices about
the foods we do eat. Some simple tips for those who
find themselves eating for comfort: If you are
upset, punch your pillow and let it out
constructively; bored - get involved in activities.
Pursue an interest or class; sad or lonely - get
happy...seek out friends, company and
entertainment!; worried - share your worry with
others--do not keep it inside. You also must
exercise. Exercise reduces stress.
How can exercise help me with stress?
Studies indicate that physical activity is
associated with decreased levels of depression,
tension/anxiety, anger and fatigue. The higher your
stress levels, the more likely that exercise will
have a positive effect. Studies additionally show
that exercise is associated with increased levels of
endurance and energy, possibly resulting from
changes in the PH level of the blood. Self esteem is
likely to be enhanced as a result of participation
in a regular exercise program. In some cases
exercise has been found to be as effective as
medication in reducing symptoms of depression
(aerobic activity such as running, bicycling,
jumping rope is most likely to decrease depressive
symptoms). Physical activity has been found to
improve concentration and memory due to increased
levels of oxygen in the blood and brain. As little
as 20 minutes of exercise per day (even simply a
brisk walk.), 3 times per week has been found to
have a mood enhancing effect.
How long should I take Corticel™?
Corticel™ should be taken as long as you have
everyday stress in your life, and as long as you
want to manage your stress and weight. If you stop
taking Corticel™, but still have stress in your
life, your cortisol levels may rise to higher than
desired levels, and the whole fat-making process may
start again. Even after you reach your weight loss
goals, you will still want to take Corticel™

Do I need to change my diet while taking Corticel™?
Corticel™ will complement any healthy diet, but it's
always wise to follow some simple rules: Eat fresh
and natural whole foods like fresh fruits and
vegetables, lean cuts of mean and whole grain foods.
Avoid processed, artificial foods. Limit (avoid when
possible) caffeine and sugar. Do not eat after 7pm,
or for 3 hours before bedtime. Instead of having one
large meal, eat smaller, more frequent healthy meals
throughout the day. Also, remember to drink plenty
of water and replace soda with water (one healthy
change can go a long way!). Water suppresses
appetite and helps metabolize fat! On average, a
person should drink 8 glasses of water a day.
